I have had a variety of small steps I thought I could write about. But I’m a JUMP ALL IN type of girl so doing small gestures often are not my style.
Yet God size dreams TAKE TIME and can not be RUSHED. No matter how fast I run and try to jump ahead.
Currently at church the sermon series is on DREAMS – isn’t it amazing how much God loves us. Here I am seeking to step into my God size dream for my life and he puts it on the hearts of NCC staff to start the year off with a DREAMS series.
God is in the details. He will surround us with his love DAILY if we allow him.
God’s timing is ALWAYS PERFECT!
So why do I struggle with wanting to go zero to 60 with my dreams? Why do I want to speed through the lesson rather than sit at Jesus feet and learn what he is trying to teach me?
I could blame it on society but the truth is accepting God’s extravagant love is hard at times. The enemy is quick to remind me that I fall short so go do things in your own strength. God’s to busy to be in the details. Yet that is farthest from the truth.
Anyway as I was trying to RUSH the launch of Clothed in Love, I put together my first friendship quilt. I even posted on the FB page that I was sending it out. Smiling pridefully that I was making things happen.
But remember God is in the details.
I was almost ready to send it off when the Holy Spirit asked me “Is that your best? Does that quilt show the richness of God’s love? Are you bringing glory to God with that quilt?”
Then I saw this cup on DaySpring (which is 50% off for you coffee cup lovers like me)

That beautiful cup summed up what I wanted the quilts to represent. I want those who receive it to feel like they are being covered in God’s love.
I want the orphans who receive new clothes to be clothed in God’s love.
And love my friends, can’t be rushed. So back to the drawing board I go….
My step was not a step forward but a step back to realign myself to the PURPOSE of what God is calling me to do.
SHOW HIS LOVE RICHLY.

Such a beautiful post, Delonna! I love your honesty. What a true statement, and a great reminder….”love my friends, can’t be rushed.” God-sized Dreams are definitely worth waiting for. Can’t wait to see what He does with yours, and how He fulfills them! BTW, I love the material in your quilt
Thanks Lisa
God is showing me how to love like he loves and that unconditional love takes a little getting use to but I’m ready to feel the fullness of his love. And most importantly I want to pour out that same kind of love. I’m so glad you stopped by.
